Description

About
The Argentine shrimp (Pleoticus muelleri) is one of the tastiest in our range. Tastes naturally vary, but thanks to its natural, varied diet, we know this shrimp only as full of flavor, sweet, and almost buttery.

Taste & Quality
Argentine prawns are known as the sweetest prawns in the world. They have a soft, almost buttery texture and a rich, full flavor that is often compared to lobster or langoustine. A prawn for true connoisseurs, therefore, that rightfully deserves the title 'premium'.

Preparation:
Raw-peeled Argentine shrimp are ready to use. Ideal for serving without your guests having to peel them themselves. Perfect for a traditional ceviche or a delicious Pad Thai, or steam the shrimp briefly with a little lime juice and combine them with fresh herbs and vegetables for a refreshing appetizer. Make sure to cook these shrimp briefly. Once they turn a slightly reddish color, they're done!

Labels & Sustainability
The Argentine fishery is currently undergoing an MSC certification process. Because these shrimp have a rapid growth cycle and are abundant, they can be harvested sustainably without harming the natural population. The reproductive cycle lasts approximately 12 to 16 months, which is very short in the wild.

Thawing tip:
For the best texture and flavor, thaw the shrimp slowly in the refrigerator (8-12 hours). If you have less time, place them in a sealed bag in cold water and change the water every 10 minutes. Don't use hot water or a microwave, as this will harm the flavor and texture.
