Breeding method
Our pangasius is farmed in Vietnam, one of the world's largest producers and exporters of pangasius. The fish is raised in freshwater farms along major rivers and canals. Upon request, we can supply pangasius with the ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) certification. This means that this fish has been farmed responsibly and sustainably.
Features
Appearance:
Pangasius fillet is white to light pink in color. We thinly fillet the pangasius fillet to highlight its fine, smooth texture.
Taste & Quality
Pangasius has a mild and neutral flavor, making it an excellent base for various dishes. The meat is tender and soft and combines well with various herbs, marinades, and sauces. Consequently, you will find Pangasius fillets in numerous preparations and dishes.
Preparation
The great thing about Pangasius fillet is that you can do so much with it. Season the fish simply and place it in an oven dish with lemon. The fish should be 'swimming', so use plenty of oil. As for the seasoning, you can go as far as you like. Serve with a tasty garnish and a beautiful potato gratin.
Labels & Certificates
At Golden Ocean, we choose Pangasius fillets with the ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) label, which stands for responsible aquaculture. This label guarantees that the fish is farmed with respect for the environment, animal welfare, and local communities.
Thawing tip:
Thaw the pangasius fillet slowly in the refrigerator (8-12 hours) for the best texture and flavor. Want to thaw it faster? Place the fillet in a sealed bag under cold running water. Avoid hot water or the microwave, as this can damage the fish's texture.
Description
Pangasius fillet comes from, you wouldn't guess it, the pangasius fish, or Pangasianodon hypophthalmus. This is a freshwater fish from Vietnam, where it is also farmed on a large scale. This benefits its consistent quality and price. Vietnam is one of the largest exporters of high-quality pangasius. We maintain close contact with responsible and reliable farmers in Vietnam.
