Wild catch
We sell our cod (Gadus Morhua) as cod loins, fillets, and portions. These are wild-caught in the waters of Iceland and Norway. Our cod is MSC-certified, meaning it is caught sustainably.
MSC-certified fisheries operate with quotas to prevent overfishing and ensure healthy fish populations. Through close, long-standing relationships, we can guarantee our customers the best quality year-round. This brings you close to the source of the highest-quality cod.
Features
Appearance
The cod would look great on the catwalk of bon vivants. A beautiful light grey to greenish-brown back in a mottled pattern is chicly contrasted with a stunning silky-white belly. The modern white stripe down the side completes the look. For a slightly rugged look, look at the head: broad with a whisker under the chin. Beautiful, isn't it?
Taste & Texture
We have frozen the fish in such a way that all the flavors, minerals, and textures are preserved. As a result, our cod is deliciously tender and juicy, and has such a beautiful texture that it falls apart when you slow cook it in the oven or in the pan.
Preparation:
A classic Dutch dish is cod in butter sauce. Make the sauce with butter, a little garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and, of course, plenty of butter. Slow-cook the fish in the oven with some herbs or pan-fry it until crispy. Delicious with a fresh salad and some soft potatoes.
Certifications & Sustainability
Our cod is MSC certified. This certification guarantees that the fish is caught sustainably, with regard for the future of the oceans. This way, you can enjoy a delicious and responsible meal with peace of mind!
Thawing tip:
For the best taste and texture, let cod thaw slowly in the refrigerator (8-12 hours). Want to speed things up? Place the fish in a sealed bag and soak in cold water. Avoid hot water or the microwave, as this can damage the fish's texture.
Packaging
We sell cod in various versions and packaging. For example, you will find tasty fillets or portions, but also the very best cod loins. Check the product detail pages for more information.
