Description
Cod
, or Gadus morhua, is a beloved fish from Norway and Iceland. Cod is incredibly healthy: rich in protein, low in fat, a source of omega-3 fatty acids, and packed with numerous minerals.
Taste & Texture
We have frozen the fish in such a way that all the flavors, minerals, and textures are preserved. As a result, our cod is deliciously tender and juicy, and has such a beautiful texture that it falls apart when you slow cook it in the oven or in the pan.
Preparation
These fillets do very well in the oven, but you can of course also grill, steam, or deep-fry them. Make sure you have enough butter or oil and a selection of tasty herbs. 12-15 minutes should be more than enough at 180°C in a convection oven.
Certifications & Sustainability
Our cod is MSC certified. This certification guarantees that the fish is caught sustainably, with regard for the future of the oceans. This way, you can enjoy a delicious and responsible meal with peace of mind!
Thawing tip:
For the best taste and texture, let cod thaw slowly in the refrigerator (8-12 hours). Want to speed things up? Place the fish in a sealed bag and soak in cold water. Avoid hot water or the microwave, as this can damage the fish's texture.
Packaging:
Besides fillets, Golden Ocean also offers cod portions and tenderloins. Fillets are available in all sizes upon request. Contact us !
