Description

For
our squid tubes, we use the Illex argentinus , a lightning-fast animal that lives in the South Atlantic Ocean near Argentina. It's one of the fastest squid species in the world, so farming isn't really an option. We source our squid ourselves from Argentinian fishermen, with whom we've maintained contacts for years.

Taste & Quality:
Illex squid is known for its firm yet tender texture. Compared to other squid, Illex has a slightly stronger flavor, with a subtle sweetness and a light, salty undertone. The perfect base for our squid tubes.

tubes
are incredibly versatile and can be prepared in a variety of ways. For example, make stuffed squid. Fill the tubes with a mixture of herbs, ground meat, or rice and cook them in the oven or in a rich tomato sauce. Or add them to a stir-fry. To do this, cut the tubes into thin strips and stir-fry them briefly with the remaining ingredients.

Be careful to cook the squid either very slowly or very briefly. Cooking it too long over medium heat will make it tough, while cooking it quickly at a high temperature or braising it slowly will result in a perfectly tender texture.

Thawing tip:
For the best taste and texture, thaw the squid slowly in the refrigerator for 8-12 hours. If you have less time, thaw the vacuum-packed squid in cold water. Avoid using hot water or the microwave, as this can damage the texture of the squid.

Packaging
