About Prawn Skewers:
For our prawn skewers, we use the Vannamei shrimp ( Litopenaeus vannamei ), also known as the white-legged shrimp. Our Vannamei shrimp are intensively farmed in Vietnam and India. From there, they are delivered fresh year-round, after which we freeze them at extremely low temperatures using special freezing methods. This guarantees the best quality, always and everywhere. Flavor & Quality:
Vannamei shrimp have a subtle, slightly sweet flavor and a tender texture. Their firm texture allows them to stay perfectly on the skewer and retain their juiciness during grilling. These skewers are ideal for a quick and flavorful meal and lend themselves perfectly to various marinades and spice combinations.

. Just add your own marinade and grill away. You can also pan-fry them with a drizzle of olive oil for a crispy exterior. They're ready in the oven in 10 minutes at 200°C (400°F). Be careful not to overcook or grill the prawns, as this will prevent them from becoming tough.

Quality Marks & Sustainability:
Quality-marked shrimp are available upon request. At Golden Ocean, you can choose ASC-certified Vannamei scampi. This quality mark guarantees responsible farming. Our frozen scampi are top quality: firm, shiny, and free of discoloration.

Thawing tip
: Slow thawing: Place the prawn skewers in a covered bowl in the refrigerator and let them thaw for 8-12 hours. For a faster thawing, place them outside the refrigerator in a bowl of cold water. Change the water every ten minutes until thawed. Do not use a microwave or hot water!
