Description
About raw-peeled scampi:
For our raw-peeled scampi, we use Vannamei shrimp, also known as white-legged shrimp. This shrimp species is known for its light color, tender texture, and mild, sweet flavor. Our Vannamei shrimp are intensively farmed in Vietnam and India. From there, they are delivered fresh year-round, after which we freeze them at extremely low temperatures using special freezing methods. This way, you always maintain the best quality, wherever you are.
Flavor & Quality:
Vannamei prawns are known for their subtle, slightly sweet flavor and succulent texture. They have a finer texture than Black Tiger prawns, but this is precisely why they are popular in refined dishes. Their versatility and consistent quality make them an excellent choice for a variety of culinary applications.
Preparation:
Because the scampi are already peeled, you can use them directly in your dish. Use them in a salad, for example, or stir-fry them briefly in a wok with garlic, ginger, and soy sauce for a delicious Asian dish! Choose rice or noodles, and your meal is ready. Grill them for 2-3 minutes per side, if desired. Note that Vannamei scampi cook quickly. They're done once they're pink and slightly translucent. Overcooking will make them tough.

Thawing tip:
Place the prawns in a covered bowl in the refrigerator and let them thaw for 8-12 hours. A faster method is to place the prawns in a sealed bag and soak them in cold water. Change the water every 10 minutes until thawed. Do not use hot water or a microwave!
