Our extra coarse kibbeling strips (size XL) are made from Alaska Pollack ( Theragra chalcogramma ). This fish species is caught in the icy waters of the Bering Sea and the North Pacific Ocean. Thawing tip:
You don't need to defrost the fish to fry kibbeling. However, keep in mind that it will take a slightly longer cooking time. It's better to defrost the fish briefly or lightly, though. This reduces the risk of scalding oil splatters. Just as safe and easy!
