Wild catch
Alaska pollock, or Theragra chalcogramma, is not farmed, but exclusively wild-caught in the cold, nutrient-rich waters of the North Pacific Ocean—in the waters off Alaska and Russia. The Alaska pollock fishery is one of the largest and best-managed in the world. Thanks to strict quotas and sustainable management, the population remains healthy and stable. The NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and the MSC ecolabel endorse this sustainable harvest.
The fish is often caught with trawls and processed and frozen immediately at sea to maintain freshness. Using special freezing methods, the fishermen ensure that the flavor, texture, and minerals are preserved. This allows us to offer the best quality year-round.
